Hannah Stoudemire is the co-founder and CEO of the Fashion for All Foundation and started the #BreakingtheSilence campaign. Fashion for All Foundation was created in the wake of her silent demonstration at Men’s Fashion Week in 2016, which sought to force the attention of the fashion community toward police brutality after the deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile.
After the killing of George Floyd sparked a global reckoning, Hannah saw brands that had remained silent for years posting black tiles or nothing at all, again. So she decided to launch a virtual campaign to challenge the fashion industry to acknowledge the systemic racism it has perpetuated with the #BreakingtheSilence campaign. Her accountability campaign will continue to hold brands accountable long after hashtags stop trending.
